Vietnam's Jetstar Pacific adds new aircraft

Jetstar Pacific, a recently-merged budget airline, Tuesday added a new Boeing 737-400 to its fleet a month earlier than expected and will have another Airbus A320 next month, said a company official.

The official said the aircrafts will serve new international flights from Vietnam to Thailand, Cambodia and Singapore in October.

The airline currently operates seven national routes between major domestic hubs, including Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang.

The company plans to have eight aircrafts by the year-end and fly thirty Airbus A320s by 2014.

Additionally, the budget airline today kicks off a weeklong promotion offering cheap tickets starting from VND200,000 (US$11.76) per one-way domestic flight.
